Operation of a system for injecting a predetermined amount of a secondary fluid into a primary fluid stream uses a liquid additive injection pump driven by a fluid- powered-motor driven by the primary fluid stream can be selectively suspended by an on/off switch mechanism. The fluid-powered-motor includes a housing enclosing a differential pressure piston assembly having a piston movable within a housing between upstroke and down stroke positions; a valve mechanism establishing a differential pressure within the housing to produce movement of the piston; an over-center mechanism coupled to the valve mechanism to toggle the valve mechanism between open and closed positions; and an actuating shaft coupled to the over- center mechanism, the actuating shaft including a piston upstroke stop that causes toggling of the valve mechanism at an upstroke position of the piston during normal reciprocating movement of the piston. The on/off switch mechanism axially displaces the actuating shaft relative to the housing such that the piston upstroke stop assumes an offset position when the on/off switch mechanism is in the "off' position whereby the piston upstroke stop can not be engaged to cause toggling of the valve mechanism when the piston reaches its upstroke position. In the "on" position, the on/off switch mechanism positions the actuating shaft relative to the housing such that the piston upstroke stop can be engaged to cause toggling of the valve mechanism when the piston reaches its upstroke position.
Selon l'invention, le fonctionnement d'un système permettant d'injecter une quantité prédéterminée d'un liquide secondaire dans un flux liquide principal fait appel à une pompe à injection d'additif liquide entraînée par un moteur à fluide entraîné par le flux de liquide principal et peut être suspendu par un mécanisme d'interrupteur Marche/Arrêt. Le moteur à fluide comprend un logement renfermant un ensemble piston à pression différentielle présentant un piston mobile dans un logement entre des positions de course ascendante et descendante ; un mécanisme de soupape établissant une pression différentielle dans le corps afin de produire le déplacement du piston ; un mécanisme de décentrage accouplé au mécanisme de soupape afin de basculer le mécanisme de soupape entre des positions ouverte et fermée ; et un arbre d'entraînement accouplé au mécanisme de décentrage, l'arbre d'entraînement comprenant une butée de course ascendante du piston qui entraîne le basculement du mécanisme de soupape sur une position de course ascendante du piston au cours du mouvement alternatif normal du piston. Le mécanisme d'interrupteur Marche/Arrêt déplace axialement l'arbre d'entraînement relativement au logement de sorte que la butée de course ascendante du piston adopte une position décalée lorsque le mécanisme d'interrupteur Marche/Arrêt est en position "arrêt", la butée de course ascendante du piston ne pouvant ainsi pas être engagée de manière à entraîner le basculement du mécanisme de soupape lorsque le piston atteint sa position de course ascendante. Dans la position "marche", le mécanisme d'interrupteur Marche/Arrêt positionne l'arbre d'entraînement relativement au logement de sorte que la butée de course ascendante du piston peut être engagée de manière à entraîner le basculement du mécanisme de soupape lorsque le piston atteint sa position de course ascendante.
