An on-screen display circuit for a video display appliance which can display on-screen signals in a specific position of a display screen when the on-screen signals are provided. The on- screen display circuit includes an on-screen processing section for providing the on-screen signals under the control of a microcomputer, a switching section which is controlled by a fast blanking signal outputted from the on-screen processing section to select and provide one of the on-screen signals and input video signals, a video output section for amplifying the on- screen signals or the video signals outputted from the switching section, and outputting the amplified signals to cathode terminals of a cathode-ray tube, and a blanking control section which is controlled by a sync signal separated from the video signals and the fast blanking signal outputted from the on-screen processing section to provide a blanking signal to the video output section.
