An onboard hydrogen storage unit with heat transfer system for a hydrogen powered vehicle. The system includes a hydrogen storage vessel (1) containing a hydrogen storage alloy configured to receive a stream of hydrogen through a hydrogen inlet (2) and to provide hydrogen for use in powering a vehicle. During refueling of the vehicle, a cooling/heating loop (4, 8) is used to remove the heat of hydride formation from the hydrogen storage alloy whereas during operation of the vehicle the heating/cooling loop (4, 8) is used to supply heat to the hydrogen storage alloy to aid in hydrogen desorption.
L'invention concerne une unité de stockage d'hydrogène embarquée à système de transfert thermique pour véhicule à hydrogène. Ledit système comporte un récipient de stockage d'hydrogène contenant un alliage de stockage d'hydrogène conçu pour recevoir un flux d'hydrogène et fournir l'hydrogène destiné à alimenter un véhicule. Lors du ravitaillement, une boucle de refroidissement/chauffage permet d'évacuer la chaleur de formation hybride de l'alliage de stockage d'hydrogène et pendant l'exploitation du véhicule, la boucle de refroidissement/chauffage sert à chauffer ledit alliage afin de faciliter la désorption d'hydrogène.
