An isolated polypeptide (JNK) characterized by having a molecular weight of 46kD as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE, having serine and threonine kinase activiq, phosphorylating the c-Jun N-terminal activation domain and polynucleotide sequences and method of detection of JNK are provided herein. JNK phosphorylates c-Jun N-terminal activation domain which affects gene expression from AP-1 sites.

L'invention concerne un polypeptide isolé (JNK) caractérisé en cequ'il présente une masse moléculaire de 46kD, masse moléculaire déterminée par PAGE en présence de SDS de réduction, une activité de sérine et de thréonine kinase, et qu'il phosphoryle le domaine d'activation N-terminal de c-Jun, et des séquences polynucléotidiques ainsi qu'un procédé permettant la détection de JNK. JNK phosphoryle le domaine d'activation N-terminal de c-Jun qui affecte l'expression des gènes se faisant à partir des sites AP-1.
