-1- ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An optical disc storage medium and imaging process is described wherein a migration imaging member comprising a monolayer of migration particles embedded in a softenable layer residing on a substrate is exposed to a beam of electromagnetic radiation to soften the softenable layer thereby causing the particles of the monolayer to be removed from the monolayer. The imaged portion can be detected by either reflective or transmissive means.
