The present invention relates to opalescent cosmetic compositions that are stable and suitable for topical application to human skin, and to methods for preparing and using such compositions. The compositions of the invention include (1) a hydrogenated indenestyrene-vinyltoluene polymer in an amount from about 0.1 % by weight to about 50 % by weight of the composition and (2) a carrier material in an amount from about 50 % by weight to about 99.9 % by weight of the composition. The opalescent composition may further contain a cosmetic material in an amount from about 0.5 % by weight to about 20 % by weight of the composition.
La présente invention concerne des compositions cosmétiques opalescentes qui sont stables et peuvent être appliquées par voie topique à la peau de l'homme. L'invention traite aussi de procédés de préparation et d'utilisation de ces compositions. Les compositions selon l'invention comprennent (1) un polymère d'indène-styrène-vinyltoluène hydrogéné, selon une quantité comprise entre 0,1 % en poids et 50 % en poids de la composition et (2) un matériau de support selon une quantité comprise entre 50 % et 99,9 % en poids de la composition. La composition opalescente peut contenir également un matériau cosmétique, selon une quantité comprise entre 0,5 % et 20 % en poids de la composition.
