An injection molding machine (10) is provided with an open frame (12) specifically designed to avoid angular displacement of the stationary platen (14) during the molding process. More particularly, the stationary platen (14) and the supporting frame (12) are configured to maintain a constant moment of inertia relative to the line of force acting on the platen during the clamp closed part of the cycle, so that it displaces linearly when force is applied. In addition, the frame (12) is provided with integral support members (26) to connect with the die height adjustment mechanism. The support members (26) are positioned on the frame (12) to minimize the distance of the open frame, thus minimizing the length of frame (12) subject the deflection when the force is applied.

Plus particulièrement, le plateau fixe (14) et le châssis de support (12) sont conçus pour maintenir un moment d'inertie constant par rapport à la ligne de force agissant sur le plateau pendant la partie fermée par serrage du cycle, si bien qu'il se déplace de façon linéaire lorsqu'une force est appliquée. De plus, le châssis (12) est doté d'éléments de support solidaires (26), destinés à être reliés au mécanisme de réglage de la hauteur de filière. Les éléments de support (26) sont placés sur le châssis (12) pour réduire au minimum la distance du châssis ouvert, ce qui permet de réduire ainsi au minimum la longueur de châssis (12) soumise à la déflexion lorsque la force est appliquée.
