An open top drum having a trunk section, annular lip and opening where the lip employs five curls giving the cross section of the lip a stacked I-beam or stacked channel-iron appearance and giving the opening increased strength in the radial direction. Further, the stacked I-beam shape of the lip ameliorates the effects of point loading along the lip of axial forces presented when multiple drums are stacked one on top of the other.
