ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A quick response control circuit for selectively energizing and de-energizing a DC operating coil of a direct acting electromechanical brake or clutch is disclosed, wherein an AC power circuit includes a switch that controls operation of a DC electronic control curcuit in which the DC operating coil is operatively responsive to the conducting and non-conduct- ing state of a metal oxide field effect transistor.
