ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a vehicle having a door opening with first and second doors positionable side by side in the opening, the doors being slideably supported on the vehicle for movement from a position closing the opening to an open position to one side of the opening. The second door has a locking member engageable with a portion of the vehicle to lock the second door in the opening and an operating member on the second door is connected to the locking member for moving the same between locking and unlocking positions. The improvement provides a door locking mechanism for the first door which includes a bolt connected to the first door for relative sliding movement with a keeper on the vehicle engageable by the bolt for locking the first door. An actuating lever is pivotally connected to the first door and means connect the lever to the bolt for reciprocating the same. A latch member is provided on the second door and a latch element on the bolt is engageable with the latch member to interconnect the doors in the unlocked position of the bolt.
