An apparatus for adjusting the operating position of a cultivator tool includes a tool bar (10) with a frame (14) secured thereto, a tool arm (16) pivotally mounting the cultivator tool on the frame (14), a bracket (32) having a plurality of holes (36) therein mounted on the frame, and a lever arm mechanism (38) pivotally mounted on the frame (14). The latter includes a lever (40) having a first end portion constituting a handle (42), a second end portion (44), and a detent pin (62) adapted to engage the holes (36) in the bracket (32). A spring assembly (64) yieldingly urges the bracket (32) and lever (40) together so the pin (62) normally engages one of the holes (36). A handle extension (41) can be installed to apply additional leverage, if needed. When the second end portion (44) is connected to the frame by torsional spring, the downpressure exerted on an implement mounted on the frame (14) can be varied. In another a linkage bar (82, 84) pivotally connects the second end portion (44) of the lever (40) with the tool arm (16) and allows the apparatus to raise and lower the tool.
