Abstract of the Disclosure An ophthalmic frame assembly for interchangeably holding selected lenses includes a pair of lens-receiving rim members interconnected by a bridge portion, each rim member including upper, lower and side portions, and each also provided with a groove for slidably receiving a lens into an operable position, a lens retainer, including a bar member is moveable from a position detached from the rim members to a fully assembled position interconnected with the rim members for engaging at least a portion of the top edge of each lens, thereby to hold the lenses in their operable positions, and an interlock device associated with the rim members for receiving and engaging the bar member to maintain it in an interlocked position relative to the rim members.
