The invention concerns a method for finishing the surface of an ophthalmic lens, according to a given specification. The inventive method consists in applying on the surface a varnish layer having thickness ranging between about 30 Ra and 800 Ra, where Ra is the mean average roughness of said surface, to provide it with a polished surface condition. The invention also concerns an installation for implementing said method. The invention is applicable to lenses made of mineral material or organic material.

L'invention concerne un procédé de finissage d'une surface d'une lentille ophtalmique, à une prescription donnée. Selon l'invention, on applique sur la surface une couche de vernis d'épaisseur comprise entre environ 30 Ra et 800 Ra, où Ra est la rugosité moyenne arithmétique de ladite surface, pour lui conférer un état de surface poli. L'invention concerne également une installation de mise en oeuvre dudit procédé. Application aux lentilles ne matière minérale ou en matière organique.
