The amplifier (1) is made up of two active fibre or guide amplifiers (2, 3) placed respectively before and after a gain clamped semiconductor amplifier (4), brought to stimulated emission conditions, which acts as pump radiation source for the two active fibre or guide amplifiers (2, 3).
