ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Optical apparatus and method for displaying in an aggregate forme of the image of a field which is situated in an inadequate position to be direct watched, for example the field image behind the back of the motor vehicle, image which is collected under a large angle (as far as 180°) and it is transmitted into the visual field of the observer (the driver), are disclosed.The construction of the apparatus comes into being through combinations of;mirrors, prisms, refracting medium, glass plates, lenses and fibre optics. The apparatus is composed of three sections:field image-collecting member (the objective), image-transmitting member(the extender), and image-receiving and displaying member(the display). Thus, the field image behind the back of the motor vehicle is collected and processed ( i.e. it is made smaller, is made stable, and the aberrations are corrected, depending on the complexity of the apparatus ) by the objective which is connected to one end of the image-transmitting member (extender). The image obtained in this way through objective is transmitted by the image-transmitting member (extender) to the image-receiving and displaying member (display) which is connected on the other end of the image- transmitting member (extender). The image-receiving and displaying member (display) receives the image, it processes it again ( i.e. the image is made larger if it is received below the needed dimensions of displaying, it is erected and/or reverted if it is received in an inverted and/or reverted position as compared to the field image of interest, and the aberrations are corrected if necessary ), and it displays the image into the visual field of the driver. Any member of the apparatus (objective, extender and display) can be placed anywhere and in any position. The image does not become deformed, adjustments are not necessary to receive a stable image, and the negative effects of the impurities fallen on the surface through which the objective collects the image are diminished. The apparatus increases the confort and security in motor vehicle driving process getting the possibility of a simultaneous control for both fields, it can be adapted at any sort of motor vehicle, and offers resources of modern design. The field image behind the back of motor vehicle can be obtained completely, without uncovered angles, this quality being necessary more particulary for big trucks. Through its proprieties, the new apparatus also offers a better security for vehicles destined to special transports (banks, police, etc.) .
