An optical assembly has a number of optical fibres (7) which terminate at connectors (3) which connect to short legths of optical fibre (11-18) which connect in turn to an optical back plane (4) mounted within a housing (1). It is desirable to withdraw the connectors (3) from the housing for inspection but this can be difficult as the short fibres (11-18) can be of different lengths. The assembly is therefore provided with a plurality of fixed paths of different predetermined lengths obtained with curved guides of different curvatures.

La présente invention concerne un ensemble optique comprenant un nombre de fibres optiques (7) se terminant par des connecteurs (3) qui les raccordent à de courtes longueurs de fibre optique (11-18) qui sont reliées à leur tour à un panneau optique arrière (4) monté dans un boîtier (1). Il est nécessaire de pouvoir retirer les connecteurs (3) du boîtier afin de les inspecter, tâche qui s'avère parfois difficile car les fibres courtes (11-18) peuvent être de longueurs différentes. C'est pourquoi l'ensemble de l'invention comprend une pluralité de trajectoires fixes de longueurs prédéterminées différentes que l'on obtient grâce à des guides recourbés présentant des courbures différentes.
