An optical assembly has a number of optical fibres (7) which terminate at connectors (3) which connect to short lengths of optical fibre (11-18) which connect in turn to an optical back plane (4) mounted within a housing (1). It is desirable to withdraw the connectors (3) from the housing (1) for inspection. A plurality of movable guides (26) are provided for the short fibres (11-18) to determine a number of optical paths which remain of constant length as the connectors are withdrawn from the housing.

L'invention concerne un ensemble optique présentant un certain nombre de fibres optiques (7) qui se terminent au niveau des connecteurs (3) qui sont reliés à des courtes longueurs de fibres optiques (11-18) reliant à leur tour à un arrière-plan optique (4) monté dans un boîtier (1). Il est souhaitable de retirer les connecteurs (3) du boîtier (1) aux fins d'inspection. Une pluralité de guides mobiles (26) sont conçus pour les fibres courtes (11-18) de manière à pouvoir déterminer un nombre de parcours optiques qui demeurent d'une longueur constante quand les connecteurs sont retirés du boîtier.
