Abstract of the Disclosure An optical connector for an optical fibre has a plug to be mounted to an aligner. The plug comprises a cylindrical rod of relatively great hardness and a core member which has a lower hardness and which allows easy machining. The core member is inserted and fixed in the hole formed in the cylindrical rod. A small hole is then formed in the core member. The optical fibre extends within the hole of the cylindrical rod and the tip end of the optical fibre is fixed into the small hole of the core member.
