Abstract of the Disclosure The invention discloses an optical data storage card which has a laminated constitution in the order: transparent substrate, recording layer and protective layer, and is prepared by using in the recording layer a colorant having a melting point in the range of 150 to 300°C, a decomposition initiating temperature in the range of 200 to 350°C, and .lambda.max in the range of 730 to 790 nm. The card has a high sensitivity, small distortion in record, high durability, and its quality becomes more stable as compared with conventional cards.
