An optical element capable of significantly reducing a heat double refraction effect, wherein depolarization caused by heat-induced double refraction is greatly reduced by using a (110)-cut crystal without any compensation. Depolarization can be reduced by a factor of more than ten compared with the (111)-cut crystal.
