An optical device for viewing an object at a range of working distances. The device comprises a slender tube (4) having a distal end and a proximal end, an imaging system (8) disposed at the distal end and having a wide viewing angle and a telescopic system (10) associated with the proximal end and having a narrow viewing angle. The space between the imaging system and the telescopic system within the slender tube and/or the space between the telescopic system and the proximal end of the slender tube, is filled with transparent optical media (31, 32) havinf a refraction index greater than 1. The device is especially adapted to function as an endoscope in medical applications and may be disposable.

L'invention concerne un dispositif optique destiné à visualiser un objet à une pluralité de distances frontales. Ce dispositif comprend un tube fin (4) possédant une extrémité distale et une extrémité proximale, un système d'imagerie (8) disposé au niveau de l'extrémité distale et présentant un angle de visualisation large, ainsi qu'un système télescopique (10) associé à l'extrémité proximale et présentant un angle de visualisation étroit.
