An optical disk according to the present invention has thereon an uninterrupted preformed groove adjoining a track. The address information of the track and sectors is prerecorded by variations in the preformed groove in a radial direction of the optical disk. An optical disk drive converts a detection signal, that is generated when the spot of a light beam crosses the track, into a binary signal in accordance with the comparison between the detection signal and two different slice levels, whereby a correct track crossing number is obtained. Another optical disk has thereon index marks that are prerecorded by partially varying the width of the preformed groove. Another optical disk drive detects the index mark on a specific track line, whereby formatting data with respect to address information is generated. The optical disks and optical disk drives are thus compatible with writing of the address information by means of soft-formatting.
La présente invention porte sur un disque optique ayant un sillon préformé continu, contigu à une piste. L'information d'adressage de la piste et des secteurs est préenregistrée au moyen de variations du sillon préformé dans une direction radiale par rapport au disque optique. Un lecteur de disque optique convertit un signal de détection, généré quand le spot d'un faisceau lumineux traverse la piste, en un signal binaire en fonction d'une comparaison du signal de détection avec deux niveaux de tranche différents, ce qui permet d'obtenir un numéro de croisement de piste exact. Un autre disque optique comporte des repères qui sont préenregistrés en variant partiellement la largeur du sillon préformé. Un autre lecteur de disque optique détecte les repères d'une ligne de piste spécifique, ce qui permet de générer les données de formatage concernant l'information d'adressage. Les disques optiques et les lecteurs de disque optique sont donc compatibles avec l'écriture de l'information d'adressage au moyen d'un formatage programmable.
