An apparatus for optically measuring and electronically recording a dose is disclosed. A holding means receives and holds a syringe, which has a barrel and a plunger, in a measurement position. A light source in optical communication with the barrel and the plunger generates light incident on the barrel and the plunger when the syringe is in the measurement position. An optical detector is positioned to detect a total amount of the light that is reflected from the syringe. A recording means in electrical communication with the optical detector records a dose datum indicative of the total amount of the light that is transmitted. The dose datum is indicative of the dose. A response enhancing element, connected with the plunger of the syringe and in optical communication with the optical detector, reflects light to the optical detector proportional to the dose datum.
L'appareil divulgué est un appareil pour mesurer par voie optique et enregistrer électroniquement une dose. Un organe de retenue reçoit et tient une seringue, comportant un tube et un piston, en position de mesure. Une source lumineuse en communication optique avec le tube et le piston génère un rayon de lumière qui touche le tube et le piston lorsque la seringue se trouve dans ladite position. Un détecteur optique est positionné pour détecter la quantité totale de lumière qui est reflétée par la seringue. Un dispositif d'enregistrement en communication électrique avec le détecteur optique enregistre une donnée relative à la dose indiquant la quantité totale de lumière qui est transmise.
