SO-2-26396C/JK/81 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An optical fiber cable is described comprising a linear center member having at least one longitudinal and spiral groove in the surface thereof, one coated optical fiber received in each groove, an outer sheath that encloses the center member, and a jelly-like material with which the space around eath optical fiber is entirely filled. A process for producing such an optical fiber cable is also described.
