OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTOR Abstract of the Disclosure In an optical fiber connector having a snap lock latching arrangement, internal springs act between housings and fiber holding inserts to bias the fiber holding inserts axially together into an alignment sleeve and to bias the housings axially apart to a stop position at which latching formations on the housings abut axially together. The biasing arrangement inhibits relative axial movement of the inserts and housings which would result in variable insertion loss at the connection. Stop formations provided on one of the housings center the housings with respect to one another to facilitate disengagement of the snap lock engagement. - i -
