The present invention relates to a refractive index detector for a dynamic liquid sample having a fiber optic filament of a predetermined diameter with an unclad sensor region, wherein the sensor region comprises a longitudinally tapered zone wherein the diameter continuously decreases from the predetermined diameter to a minimum diameter. The invention finds use as a detector for high performance liquid chromatography and capillary zone electrophoresis.

L'invention concerne un détecteur d'indice de réfraction, destiné à traiter un échantillon liquide dynamique et doté d'un filament en fibre optique de diamètre déterminé qui présente une région de détection non gainée. Cette région comporte une partie qui se rétrécit longitudinalement et dont le diamètre se réduit progressivement jusqu'à un minimum depuis le diamètre déterminé. Cette invention sert de détecteur pour la chromatographie liquide à haute performance et l'électrophorèse de zone sur colonne capillaire.
