Disclosed is an image capturing system including a light refractor, a light source, and a light receptor. The light refractor can be a triangular prism and includes an imaging surface against which a fingerprint or other object to be imaged is placed. The imaging surface includes at least a first layer of material which has a first part which includes a polymer and a second part which includes a fluid retained within the polymer. The fluid of the first layer can fill irregularities in the ridges of a fingerprint placed on the imaging surface. This allows a higher contrast, sharper fingerprint image to be captured. The imaging surface can also include a second layer of protective material interposed between the first layer of material and the surface of the prism to reduce breakdown or deterioration of the first layer of material due to adhesives used on the surface of the prism.
La présente invention concerne un système de saisie d'images comprenant un réfracteur de lumière, une source de lumière, et un récepteur de lumière. Le réfracteur de lumière peut être un prisme triangulaire et comprend une surface d'imagerie contre laquelle on place une empreinte ou un autre élément à reproduire. La surface d'imagerie comprend au moins une première couche de matériau dont la première partie comprend un polymère et la seconde partie un fluide contenu dans le polymère. Le fluide de la première couche peut combler les irrégularités des sillons d'une empreinte placée sur la surface d'imagerie. Ce système permet de saisir une image plus nette avec un meilleur contraste. La surface d'imagerie peut également comprendre une seconde couche de matériau protecteur interposé entre la première couche de matériau et la surface du prisme, afin de réduire le risque de rupture ou de détérioration de la première couche de matériau dû aux adhésifs utilisés sur la surface du prisme.
