OPTICAL HEAD Abstract of the Disclosure The specification discloses an information processing optical head comprising a semiconductor laser light source and an optical system for focusing beams from said light source on a recording medium on which predetermined infor- mation is recorded by light. The semiconductor laser has a number of lasing points and the optical system includes a lens for forming spot images of the lasing points of the semiconductor laser, a lens located at the point where the spot images are formed, and a lens for focusing the beams passing through the second lens onto the recording medium. This arrangement avoids the truncation of the laser beams at the focusing lens, which occurs in prior art devices.
