A non-contacting optical imaging system for seam or other periodic pattern detection for a web of material such as a strip of fabric is disclosed in which a line scan camera is used to capture a seam or other periodic pattern image and the electrical output from the camera is converted to an alternating current signal and then to a direct current signal which is proportional to the presence or absence of a seam other periodic pattern. The DC signal is integrated and then compared to a preset reference value to produce a signal for driving an alarm, display or machine control devices.
Cette invention concerne un système de contrôle par imagerie optique sans contact ayant pour fonction de détecter les coutures ou d'autres caractéristiques périodiques d'un matériau en bande, notamment une bande de tissu. Il fait appel à une caméra à balayage linéaire pour la détection des coutures ou autres singularités périodiques, la sortie électrique de la caméra étant transformée en tension alternative elle-même convertie en tension continue proportionnelle à la présence ou absence d'une couture ou autre singularité. Le signal en courant continu est intégré puis comparé à une valeur de référence pré-établie pour la génération, le cas échéant, d'un signal d'alerte, d'un signal d'affichage ou d'un signal de commande d'appareillage.
