A system for detecting vehicles in a host vehicle's (10) environment. The system preferably comprises at least one light emitting device (310) attached to the host vehicle for illuminating the host vehicle's (10) environment. The system further comprises at least one beam-forming device (430) interfaced with a light-emitting device (310) to illuminate the environment. Even more preferably, at least one photo-sensitive device (360) attached to the host vehicle for receiving the reflected light from the vehicle (200) in the host vehicle's (10) environment is provided. The system utilizes optical or infrared light thereby achieving a low cost and efficient vehicle-safety protection system.
La présente invention concerne un système de détection de véhicules dans l'environnement d'un véhicule hôte (10). De façon préférentielle, le système se compose d'un dispositif photoémetteur (310) rattaché au véhicule hôte et destiné à illuminer l'environnement du véhicule hôte (10). Ce système comporte en outre au moins un dispositif de formation de faisceau (430) disposant d'une interface avec un dispositif photoémetteur (310) assurant l'illumination de l'environnement. De façon idéale, l'invention concerne également au moins un dispositif photosensible (360) rattaché au véhicule hôte et permettant de recevoir la lumière réfléchie par le véhicule (200) se trouvant dans l'environnement du véhicule hôte (10). Ce système permet d'obtenir un dispositif efficace et peu coûteux de protection des véhicules car il fonctionne dans le spectre optique ou dans l'infrarouge.
