Preparative method for 3R-(3-carboxybenzyl)-6-(5- fluoro-2-benzothiazolyl)methoxy-4R-chromanol via its salt with quinine. The chromanol has the formula: (see fig. I) and is inhibitor of 5-lipoxgenase and antagonist of leukotriene receptors and is useful in the prevention or treatment of asthma, arthritis, psoriasis, ulcers, myocardinal infarction and related diseases.
