13 ABSTRACT: Optival scanning apparatus. An optical apparatus is described for scanning an optical record carrier (1) comprising a radiation source (7) supplying a scanning beam (b), a reflector (12) for directing the scanning beam to the record carrier and an objective lens (13, 14, 15) for focussing the beam (b) to a scanning spot (V) in the information sur- face (2). The mounting height of the apparatus can be considerably reduced by integrating the objective lens and the reflector in one reflector-objective element (11). Fig. 1.
