BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION FIELD OF THE INVENTION- This invention relates to optical scanning apparatus and particularly to optical scanning apparatus for the accquisition and digitization of the peripheral shapes of eyeglass frames and pattern cams for subsequent input to a processing and storage computer. The present invention serves to provide novel means of optically accquiring and digitizing the peripheral shapes of eyeglass frames, lenses and pattern cams, and serves to provide advantages which include ease of operation, a high accquisition rate and high resolution.
