A small-sized optical semiconductor module is provided. An optical semiconductor module (10) comprises a mount (20), a first member (30), an optical semiconductor device (22), a second member (34) and an optical fiber (40). The mount (20) extends along a reference plane perpendicular to an axis (12). The first member (30) comprises a tubular portion (30a) extending along the axis (12), a first end (30b) provided on one end of the tubular portion (30a) and fixed to the mount, and a second end (30c) provided on the other end of the tubular portion (30a). The optical semiconductor device (22) is arranged in the tubular portion (30a) of the first member (30) so that the optical axis of the device may align with the axis (12). The second member (34) has a tubular portion (34a) extending along the axis (12) and fixed to the second end (30c) of the first member (20). The optical fiber (40) extends in the tubular section (34a) of the second member (34) and coupled optically to the optical semiconductor device (22).
