An optical waveguide device usable as an optical wave-modulator and having a reduced DC drift includes a LiNbO3 substrate, an optical waveguide formed in a front surface portion of the substrate, a dielectric layer covering the front surface of the substrate and the optical waveguide surface, and an electrode system arranged on the dielectric layer, the dielectric layer comprising a matrix component consisting of an amorphous SiO2 and a doping element component consisting of Li and/or Nb; and having a refractive index lower than that of the amorphous SiO2 matrix free from the doping element component.

L'invention est un guide de lumière à dérive réduite qui peut être utilisé comme modulateur de lumière. Ce guide de lumière comprend un substrat de LiNbO3, le guide de lumière proprement dit étant formé sur la surface frontale de ce substrat, d'une couche diélectrique couvrant la surface frontale du substrat et la surface du guide de lumière, et d'une électrode montée sur la couche diélectrique, cette couche diélectrique comportant une composante matricielle constituée de SiO2 amorphe et d'un élément dopant de Li et/ou de Nb. Le guide de lumière de l'invention a un indice de réfraction inférieur à celui de la matrice de SiO2 amorphe exempte d'élément dopant.
