An optically anisotropic film comprising a mixture of apolymer, a dye having an absorption peak not in a visible region but in an ultraviolet region, and occasionally a liquid crystal polymer, wherein the retardation of the optically anisotropic film is between 50 nm and 3000 nm, and the dye has an aspect ratio of 1.5 or more, or the dye shows a dichroism. The optically anisotropic film has a high wavelength dispersion of the retardation, and a liquid crystal display apparatus achieves an excellent black-and-white display by using the optically anisotropic film.
Une pellicule optiquement anisotrope comprenant un mélange d'un polymère, un colorant ayant un pic d'absorption qui n'est pas dans le visible, mais dans l'ultraviolet, et occasionnellement un polymère à cristaux liquides; le retard optique de la pellicule optiquement anisotrope se situe entre 50 et 3 000 nm et le colorant possède un rapport dimensionnel de 1,5 ou plus, ou le colorant est dichroïque. La pellicule optiquement anisotrope présente une dispersion élevée des longueurs d'onde du retard optique, et un dispositif d'affichage à cristaux liquides donne un excellent affichage en noir et blanc par l'utilisation de la pellicule optiquement anisotrope.
