The invention concerns a method for assembling two substantially planar parts (10, 12) via fixing members (14) such as rivets or bolts, which consists in first calculating the ratio R between the tension and flexional stresses corresponding to the load to be transmitted; then orienting the end line of the fixing members (14) at an angle alpha whereof the absolute value is such that 10.8 1n(R) + 16 < l alpha l < 13.9 1n(R) + 28 when the ratio R is not less than 1 and such that: 16 DEG < l alpha l < 28 DEG when the ratio R is less than 1. The absolute value of angle alpha does not exceed 90 DEG .
