A method of converting video data from a YUV format to an RGB format comprising (a) performing a matrix transformation of Y, U and V pixel data of a set of possible Y, U and V parameters into corresponding R, G and B parameters, (b) determining whether the set of R, G and B parameters forms a first lookup table whose size exceeds the size of a particular memory space, (c) in the event the lookup table is too large for the memory space, truncating least significant bits of at least the U and V parameters, (d) repeating steps (a), (b) and (c) until the first lookup table fits the memory space, and then storing the first lookup table in the memory space, and (e) using the first lookup table to provide RGB pixel data using the YUV data as addresses thereto.

L'invention est une méthode de conversion de données vidéo d'un format YUV en un format RVB (rouge-vert-bleu) comportant les opérations suivantes : a) exécution d'une transformation matricielle de données de pixel Y, U et V faisant partie d'un ensemble de paramètres Y, U et V possible en paramètres R, V et B correspondants, b) examen visant à déterminer si l'ensemble des paramètres R, V et B forme une première table de consultation dont la taille excède la capacité d'un espace en mémoire donné, c) au cas où la table de consultation est trop volumineuse pour l'espace de mémoire en cause, élimination des bits les moins significatifs des paramètres U et V au moins, d) répétition des opérations a), b) et c) jusqu'à ce que la première table de consultation puisse prendre place dans l'espace de mémoire en cause et stockage de ladite table dans ledit espace, et e) utilisation de ladite table pour produire des données de pixel RVB en utilisant les données YUV comme adresses pour ces dernières.
