ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An opto-electronic ignition system of the type disclosed in our Canadian Patent Application No. 256,761 in which the improvements are:- (a) a reverse diode across the infra-red lamp; (b) a capacitor connected in parallel with the protective zener diode associated with the power Darlington pair; and (c) a Schottky diode connected in the forward direction between the base and collector electrodes of the photo-transistor. - 1 -
