The invention relates to an orbital carrier (2) for a device for butt-welding pipes (C, C) to form a pipeline, said device comprising at least one welding carriage (1) supporting at least one welding head (6) which has at least one welding torch, said orbital carrier (2) surrounding the pipes (C, C) to be welded and being designed to enable positioning and movement in the plane of the joint between the pipes (C, C) of said welding carriage or carriages (1), and said orbital carrier (2) also being movable translationally along the pipeline as it grows. The invention consists in the fact that said orbital carrier (2) consists of at least two components (20) in the form of segments of a circle able to be connected together to form the orbital carrier (2) around the pipes (C, C) during a welding phase and also to allow said orbital carrier (2) to be opened, at least at the top, to allow it to pass an obstruction on the outside of the pipe (C, C). Application: the welding of pipes (C, C).
L'invention concerne un support dit orbital (2) pour un dispositif de soudage de conduits (C, C') à souder bout à bout pour former une canalisation de type pipeline, ledit dispositif comportant au moins un chariot de soudage (1) supportant au moins une tête de soudage (6) présentant au moins une torche de soudage, ledit support orbital (2) entourant les conduits (C, C') à souder et étant agencé pour permettre le positionnement et l'entraînement en déplacement le long du plan de joint entre des conduits à souder (C, C') dudit au moins un chariot de soudage (1), ledit support orbital (2) étant en outre déplaçable en translation le long de la canalisation en formation. L'invention consiste en ce que ledit support orbital (2) est constitué d'au moins deux pièces (20) en forme de segment de cercle agencées pour pouvoir être raccordées l'une à l'autre pour former le support orbital (2) autour des conduits à souder (C, C') pendant une phase de soudage et pour permettre également l'ouverture dudit support orbital (2) au moins dans sa partie supérieure, pour dépasser un encombrement à la périphérie du conduit (C, C'). Application au soudage de conduits (C, C') à souder.
