ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An everted orbital displacer is formed having a plurality of working cavities defined by an internal peripheral surface of an orbiting piston, an external peripheral wall of a stationary internal housing located within the orbiting piston, opposed stationary end plates, and vanes sliding in slots in the internal housing and substantially radial grooves in the end plates. If the piston is double sided, a normal orbital displacer may be formed with its working cavities located on the outer periphery of the piston and the combination of the two displacers used as a two stage compressor, pump or motor or as the basis of a two stroke or four stroke internal combustion engine, the advantages of an orbital displacer of compactness, efficiency and balance being further enhanced by the combination unit.
