The invention provides a method and installation for processing heterogeneous value bearing material by pressure comminution. The material is compressed in a bed of particles, at low pressures and at low bulk material densities, and preferably no more than is necessary to liberate the desired values, thereby to minimize the formation of fines. The compressive bed pressure applied to the material does not exceed 300 MPa, preferably at most 50 MPa and more preferably 30 MPa. The process is preferably operated in an open circuit mode. Surprisingly, these measures lead to enhance liberation of values compared with conventional comminution techniques.
L'invention concerne un procédé et une installation de traitement d'un matériau porteur de valeurs hétérogènes, par fragmentation sous pression. Ce procédé consiste à comprimer le matériau dans un lit de particules, à basses pressions et à faibles densités de matériau en vrac, et, de préférence, pas plus qu'il n'est nécessaire pour libérer les valeurs désirées, afin de minimiser ainsi la formation de fines. La pression de compression du lit, appliquée au matériau, ne doit pas dépasser 300 MPa et être, de préférence, d'au maximum 50 MPa et encore plus préférablement de 30 MPa. On exécute ce procédé en mode de circuit ouvert. De manière surprenante, ces mesures d'exécution permettent d'obtenir une libération accrue des valeurs par rapport aux techniques de fragmentation habituelles.
