ABSTRACT A process for recovering metal concentrates from mineral ores containing metals, especially copper, in the form of their sulphides and/or oxides, comprising froth flotation of the finely divided ore in aqueous medium using, as collector, an aliphatic aldoxime having 8 or more carbon atoms, the aqueous medium having a pH value of at least 6. The aldoxime collectors are effective with both sulphide and oxide ores and, being sulphur-free, are less odorous than the traditional xanthate collectors.
