A composition comprising a storage-stable organ preservation solution, comprising a linear polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight of approximately 20,000 Daltons and being essentially free of decomposition products. This solution can be used for organ preservation as a perfusate in a process in which the perfusate if flowed through the circulatory system of the organ, and can also be used for transplantation or routine open heart cardioplegic applications.

L'invention concerne une composition comprenant une solution de préservation d'organes stable au stockage, comprenant un polyéthylèneglycol linéaire qui possède un poids moléculaire moyen d'environ 20 000 daltons et est essentiellement exempt de produits de décomposition. Cette solution peut s'utiliser pour la préservation d'organes, comme perfusat dans un procédé dans lequel le perfusat est injecté dans le système circulatoire de l'organe; cette solution peut également s'utiliser dans une transplantation ou des applications de routine de cardioplégie à coeur ouvert.
