Abstract Compounds of the formula I, II or III RS-SbX2 Image Image I II III wherein X is halogen, OH, -OR1, -OOCR2, -OOC-R4-COOR3 or -N(R5)(R6), or the two X groups together form a group -O-R9-O- or -OOC-R9-COO-, Y has one of the mean- ings given for X, or it is -NHR5 or -NHNH-phenyl, Z has one of the mean- ings given for X, or is -SR, and R, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6 and R9 are organic radicals having the meanings defined herein, are thermal stabilisers for chlorine- containing thermoplasts, particularly for PVC. Their effect can be further intensified by the addition of co-stabilisers.
