An organic digesting system (10) incorporating a pair of digester units (12, 14) each of which includes an elongated, horizontally disposed frusto-conical, stationary outer drum (18, 68) including a correspondingly frusto-conical inner drum (28, 78) that is rotatably driven about a horizontal axis. Each of the inner conical drums (28, 78) is contracted of foraminous material to form a periphery (30) that is porous with the foraminous periphery of the inner drum (28, 78) being supported from support shafts (40, 50) at each end thereof. The interior of the inner drum (28, 78) is provided with a plurality of inwardly extending agitation blades (64) which arse spaced peripherally on the interior of the inner drum (28, 78) and arranged in longitudinally spaced arrays. Also, each inner drum (28, 78) is provided with a plurality of outwardly extending outer agitation blades (62) with the function of these blades being to min, agitate and chum the organic material while lifting and moving it from the entrance to the upper outer drum (18) to the discharge into the lower outer drum (68) and to the discharge outlet from the lower outer drum (68).

L'invention concerne un système de digestion organique (10) présentant une paire d'autoclaves (12, 14) comportant chacun une enveloppe externe tronconique stationnaire (18, 68) contenant un tambour interne rotatif de même forme tronconique que ce dernier monté rotatif sur un axe horizontal. Chaque tambour interne conique (28, 78) est en matériau foraminé et forme un pourtour (30) poreux avec le pourtour foraminé du tambour interne (28, 78) qui est supporté à chaque extrémité par des axes de support (40, 50). Le tambour interne (28, 78) renferme une pluralité de pales d'agitation (64) s'étendant vers l'intérieur et réparties sur la périphérie de ce dernier en groupes espacés longitudinalement. Chaque tambour interne (28, 78) est doté d'une pluralité de pales d'agitation externes s'étendant vers l'extérieur (62) et conçues pour mélanger, agiter et faire tourbillonner la matière organique en la faisant monter, et en la déplaçant de l'entrée dans le tambour externe supérieur (18), dans la décharge donnant dans le tambour interne inférieur (68), et de ce dernier (68) dans la sortie de décharge.
