Abstract of the Disclosure A hydrolytically stable composition contains as its essential components at least about 85% by weight of an organic triphosphate and from about 0.1% to 5% by weight of a salt of a metal from Group I or Group II of the Periodic System and an organic acid having at least 8 carbon atoms. An organic tri- phosphite can be stabilized against hydrolytic degradation in accordance witb the invention by mixing from about 0.1% to 5% by weight of the said salt therewith.
