Group 4 metallocene compounds are supported on titanium tetrafluoride, zirconium tetrafluoride, or solid oxides treated with said fluorides, with activation by an organoaluminum compound to result in anolefin polymerization catalyst. The catalyst is usable for forming homopolymers or copolymers of alpha olefins.

L'invention concerne des composés métallocènes de groupe 4 déposés sur un support de tétrafluorure de titane, de tétrafluorure de zirconium, ou d'oxydes solides traités avec lesdits fluorures, avec activation par un composé d'organoaluminum, pour donner un catalyseur de polymérisation d'oléfine.
