ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A system and a method are provided to monitor and control feed of a precipitant to a reservoir containing a fluid, such as wastewater, with metals therein. Polymeric dithiocarbamate (pDTC) is provided as the precipitant to the fluid. An oxidation reduction potential electrode is provided in the reservoir for measuring electrochemical potential. In response, the feed of the precipitant may be controlled to maintain the electrochemical potential within a predetermined range.
