An orthopedic insert (2) includes a stiffening base part (4) and thereupon a shock-absorbing upper part (8) extending substantially over the entire insert (2). On its underside the insert has regions (14, 16) with material removed under the longitudial and transversal arches of the user's foot to allow a dynamic, natural, shock-absorbing movement of the arches and the foot. At least backwards from a point about 1/3 from the forward edge of it, the shock- absorbing upper part is substantially uniformly thick. The base part (4) is formed with an upstanding wall (6) round the heel portion thereof for keeping the heel cushion in place. A method of manufacturing such an insert is also a subject of the invention.

Une semelle interne orthopédique (2) comprend une partie base de renforcement (4) sur laquelle se trouve une partie supérieure (8) amortissante qui s'étend sur pratiquement toute la semelle (2). Celle-ci comporte, sur sa surface inférieure, des régions (14, 16) qui sont situées sous les parties longitudinale et transversale de la voûte plantaire du pied de l'utilisateur et dont on a enlevé du matériau afin que lesdites parties de la voûte plantaire et le pied puissent présenter un mouvement dynamique, naturel et amorti par rapport aux chocs. La partie supérieure amortissante présente une épaisseur pratiquement uniforme au moins sur une zone postérieure de sa surface en partant d'une ligne délimitant le tiers avant. La partie base (4) comporte une paroi verticale (6) entourant la partie talon, qui permet de maintenir en position la partie rembourrée du talon. Un procédé de fabrication d'une telle semelle interne est également décrit.
